Creation. Pride. Satisfaction. Legacy.
These are words to live by at Mod Interiors.
We create fine architectural millwork; take pride in every project; always strive for complete customer satisfaction; and build everything to leave a legacy of quality for future generations.
Back in the summer of 1982, we opened a small shop on Harper in Detroit, Michigan. We moved to our present location in 1999. In this fully-equipped, 20,000-square-foot facility, our skilled craftsmen create custom millwork projects that include special veneering, graphic inlays and high-end factory finishes as well as standard plastic laminate and solid surface fabrications.
Mod Interiors offers design and engineering services, along with complete fabrication and installation services. Each piece is built to your custom specifications and receives exclusive attention to detail. Special orders and designer features are always welcome and never are considered a problem. See our Services pages for more about how Mod Interiors can provide a custom-built solution for you.
PROFILE
GREEN BUILDING
We're working to be a leader in environmentally-friendly building methods that meet the LEED™ Green Building Rating System - the national benchmark for high performance green buildings. We have experience with projects that follow requirements and procedures for compliance with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED™ prerequisites and credits needed to obtain LEED™ Gold Certification.
Mod Interiors has the knowledge and experience to correctly follow green building procedures with materials like wheat-board cores, renewable materials, low- or no- VOC coatings, formaldehyde-free adhesives, and certified veneers and lumber harvested from sustainable forests are all part of the process of LEED™ certification.
And, even when building fine architectural woodworking to the high standards for LEED™ certification, there is no discernable difference in the result - excellent woodworking, fine veneers, durable finishes - it's all possible while creating an environmentally friendly, green building project.
The goal of using rapidly renewable resources, recycled content, waste reduction, regionally manufactured materials, and certified wood products is not only part of LEED™ requirements, it is also good for business. Your company can benefit from a healthier indoor environment while helping save forests and reduce pressure on landfills. One example of using recycled materials with great success is our work with the Alkemi Recycled Solid Surface Material, which is not only durable and attractive, but easily machinable and environmentally friendly.
